Once upon a time, there was a boy born to a couple of no great wealth or poverty in Norey, Kanemoria, who lived well until he woke not in his bed, but in the streets, with the bodies of his parents lying next to him. Life as an orphaned street rat was hard at first, but living off stolen goods without drawing attention to himself nurtured a talent he called "people watching": in time, he knew a person's personality and history by the way they walked, how they spoke, the way they dressed, the quality of their belongings, their body language... All this he used to pick his targets, who soon found themselves without a purse or a few valuble items short.

When he approached adulthood, he pickpocketed a merchant who managed to catch him in the act. Rather than report him to authorities, he offered the boy work. For a year, he worked for the merchant as the two travelled south, but grew tired of the work and left two months before the merchant could return to Norey. The merchant never returned to Norey. He was found in the hills, stabbed to death and his belongings stolen.

The boy is now a man in his twenties, currently roaming throughout Kanemoria, assuming different identities and killing merchants of increasingly high importance and influence, abandoning the identity he created for a new one when close to being discovered or when it suits him. The agenda behind the seemingly pointless acts remain unknown.

Frank the apprentice baker. Cheerful. Dim. Slow of wit. A fool and a drunkard.

Rob the builder. Rough. Loyal. Blunt. A man of few words.

Glynn the guard. Polite. Eager. Nervous. Working to rise above his station.

All played to such utter perfection that no one could possibly have an inkling that they are not who others believe them to be.

Connor himself is distant and unfeeling, quick with his hands and his wits, someone who shuns the company of others and mostly keeps to himself. At least, this is the persona he adopts when he's between disguises. Over time, though, his near constant acting has come at a price. Frank the baker, Rob the builder, Glynn the guard, all the people he had been then and now have seeped into his psyche.

Now he isn't sure who he is.

The man who occasionally calls himself Connor is of average height, of average weight and of average build. He has normal brown eyes found in the majority of people in Kanemoria, and normal brown hair. He wears regular clothing that denotes him as being neither rich nor poor.
